I didn’t think it was possible for Book 2 to too Book 1, but I was completely wrong! This series has me in a chokehold and I am counting down the days until Book 3 is released! Chills。 K。A。 Tucker continues to impress me。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Just as good as the first, although I thought there would be more pining and that it would take longer for the two love interests to get thru their animosity - the chemistry is good and the MC is such a strong, well rounded character。 The ending is phenomenal and I'm excited for the next book。 Just as good as the first, although I thought there would be more pining and that it would take longer for the two love interests to get thru their animosity - the chemistry is good and the MC is such a strong, well rounded character。 The ending is phenomenal and I'm excited for the next book。 。。。more

I felt like I was hate-reading this, because how could I claim any self-respect and enjoy reading about a girl who is down this bad? Why is this going so slow also?

Oof。Why did it take me forever to finish this thing?Cause it was boring。I loved the first book so this was a big letdown for me。 It was so terribly bland。 It felt like the entire book was the same things happening on repeat。 The love story had the potential to be interesting but then just fell flat。 and then the ending was very strange。I'm quite disappointed and I'm not sure I will be reading the rest of the series。 Oof。Why did it take me forever to finish this thing?Cause it was boring。I loved the first book so this was a big letdown for me。 It was so terribly bland。 It felt like the entire book was the same things happening on repeat。 The love story had the potential to be interesting but then just fell flat。 and then the ending was very strange。I'm quite disappointed and I'm not sure I will be reading the rest of the series。 。。。more

Okay, the writing is… not the cleanest。 However, the story is pretty good, and I’ll probably read the next one so I can find out what happens!

Gahhh this book was soo good。 I loved this one as much as the first。 The traveling, the slow progression from reluctant allies to found family, the secrets! Also, I really enjoyed the new characters。 The romance was slow to progress like the first book, which I love a good slow burn。 I wanted to shake them both at times! Zander is finally become the King he was ment to be。 And Romy is everything I love in a FMC, strong willed but kind hearted。And that ending 🤯 what are they going to do next ? Welp。 A couple things。Justice for Jarek。Romeria is insanely annoying in this book。 She is self-righteous and preachy, but the author rewards her behavior by making everything work out for her, and making everyone instantly loyal to her。 Someone is being mean to a human? Well, it doesn’t matter that they are an important noble who could determine Zander’s claim to the throne, I will thoroughly humiliate them and take away their livelihood。 These characters have zero political savvy, Romeria espec Welp。 A couple things。Justice for Jarek。Romeria is insanely annoying in this book。 She is self-righteous and preachy, but the author rewards her behavior by making everything work out for her, and making everyone instantly loyal to her。 Someone is being mean to a human? I kind of liked the ending but Romeria did nothing to deserve this new kingdom or the title “queen for all。” 。。。more

Better than the second。 You can see Tucker exploring the fantasy world better this time。 Nice characters, but not exceptional。 You will know what I mean if you have read any Maas books。 This one is good, but not at Maas level。

Did I not love this because it took me too long to read it or did it take me too long to read it because I didn’t love it。。? The sequel to A Fate of Wrath and Flame was a slower pace then the first book。 Told in two POV Romeria and Zander are together after fleeing the capital。 They met up with the Legion and set course to finding Ianca, the Seer, that fled with Gesine and is waiting for them in Bellcross。 This book is a sequence of actions that lay out the potential framework for the next book。 Romeria continue to free humans and show compassion but at certain points I wasn’t sure of the purpose。 It felt redundant be The sequel to A Fate of Wrath and Flame was a slower pace then the first book。 Told in two POV Romeria and Zander are together after fleeing the capital。 They met up with the Legion and set course to finding Ianca, the Seer, that fled with Gesine and is waiting for them in Bellcross。 This book is a sequence of actions that lay out the potential framework for the next book。 Romeria continue to free humans and show compassion but at certain points I wasn’t sure of the purpose。 It felt redundant because the action did nothing but provoke danger and slow them down。 I was fearful that the Legion would turn on them just as Islor was overtaken by Atticus because they feared Zander was bewitched by Romeria。 Burning the apple orchard and slaughtering the keepers isn’t something Zander typically does but kinda felt like it was him proving his love to Romeria。 It was the right thing but it felt like Zander had to be prodded to action。 Interesting enough regarding the second agenda of the prophecy - How Sophie is tied into this story and what her purpose is。 She’s similar to Romeria but unlike Romeria, she has no allies。 With her under Malachi control I think she will be the final boss unless there is some sort of twist。The ending was just right。 They discover the lost city of Ulysede。 This is probably their new home base。 They also discover they don’t hungry for blood anymore。 The story ends with the last chapter in Atticus POV with him receiving a letter from Ulysede。 Ohh the suspense。 。。。more

I give up。 I managed to get through the first book and found myself in the mood for the second one。 But 20% in and I've got enough。 Honestly, I am bored and lost。 I don't think it's fair to give this a rating as I obviously haven't finished it。 It's simply not for me。 I give up。 I managed to get through the first book and found myself in the mood for the second one。 But 20% in and I've got enough。 Honestly, I am bored and lost。 I don't think it's fair to give this a rating as I obviously haven't finished it。 It's simply not for me。 。。。more

I hate the whole keeping secrets trope in a lot of fantasy books it always seems to be to “keep the main characters safe” however it oddly works in to benefit this series in both books。 Absolutely love the characters and the development many of them go through。 Couldn’t put it down !

i liked it a lot! i don’t love when fantasy books are just everyone trying to get somewhere and it felt like it was a lot of filler to set up the next book but also felt like more action and more entertaining than the first book。 i was entertained the entire time and never got bored 4。5/5

I read this series before I really started doing reviews, but I’ve come back to share with everyone what a wonderful series this is! My first KA Tucker book was The Simple Wild, and when I realized she had a fantasy series…I had to read it。 I loved these books so much I bought the fancy hardcover personalized from Tucker herself。 The main character stays true to herself in the second installment。 She remains a badass and hilarious。 My biggest worry is what will happen in the next book, as it was I read this series before I really started doing reviews, but I’ve come back to share with everyone what a wonderful series this is! A Curse of Blood and Stone jumps right back into the action where book one left off。 I was glad to have reread the A Fate of Wrath and Flame to brush up on the details before starting this one。 This installment more fully unleashed the magic, political intrigue and romance that makes this series great。 I appreciated getting to explore more of the world that KA Tucker has built in these novels, which (mostly) made up for the limited page-presence of some of my favorite characters from the first b A Curse of Blood and Stone jumps right back into the action where book one left off。 I was glad to have reread the A Fate of Wrath and Flame to brush up on the details before starting this one。 This installment more fully unleashed the magic, political intrigue and romance that makes this series great。 I appreciated getting to explore more of the world that KA Tucker has built in these novels, which (mostly) made up for the limited page-presence of some of my favorite characters from the first book。 While a little slow at times, the story kept me interested, and that ending。 Whew。 I won’t spoil it, but let’s say I’m on the edge of my seat for the day book three lands in my hands。 。。。more

I loved the forced proximity, the traveling, and of course the banter between Romy & Zander。 I enjoyed that we got to see a little bit more outside the kingdom on their quest and was introduced to new characters。 This sequel did not disappoint。 I’m excited to see what’s in store for book 3。

The plot was sort of meh and I think the angst could have been drawn out longer。 But I did like that they didn’t go back and forth。 And I loved that they just accumulating people。 It reminded me of khaleesi。 Very interested to see how this all plays out。

AMAZINGI could not put either book in this series down。The twists, the romance。 Every character is developed beautifully and the story unfolds perfectly。 I don’t have a single negative thing to say about it, and I’m VERY picky with my 5 star ratings。 This book and the first have more than earned 5 stars。 Im devastated that I have to wait months for the third book!
